The key to the Gazebo Summerhouse's elegance lies in its hexagonal shape which makes it that bit different from other summerhouses. Manufactured in the UK, Shire's summerhouses are renowned for their quality and probably make the best value for money summerhouses in the UK today.

The summerhouse comes complete with two large opening criss-cross windows and a single door that are handmade and properly morticed and tenoned. Shire buildings are made from a high grade ship-lap tongue and groove construction. This is distinguished from fast grown type timber used on cheaper sheds from other manufacturers. Tongue and groove construction means the building is better sealed from the elements. The timber used is a continental slow-grown timber. Slower-grown timber means tighter grain, extra strength, and longer life.

Frame: A robust Planed 35x35mm (1 1/2' x 1 1/2') framework (walls and floor) that gives the building strength.

Floor: consists of 12mm planed tongue and groove matching pattern boarding.

Roof: constructed using 12mm tongue and froove complete with roofing felt.

Walls: are constructed using high quality 12mm thick softwood planed tongue and groove shiplap pattern boarding. All timber is from sustainable sources so that you can feel good about buying a Shire summerhouse.

Treatment: all Shire buildings are supplied pre-treated on both sides in a honey brown water based industrial product.

Windows: are properly morticed and tenoned. They are opening, profiled, and weather resistant. The window has a unique profiled 'lip' that covers the aperture of the opening in the panel making it weather resistant. Casement stays have 2 levels of opening. The glazing is 3mm horticultural glass. All glazing is retained by profiled beading which is pre-mitered (no awkward corners to be cut).

Doors: Handmade properly morticed and tenoned. Joinery Single Door

Treatment: All Shire garden buildings are supplied pre-treated with a base coat to both sides in a golden brown water based industrial product (colour can vary from the picture shown). Shire the manufacturer recommends that you apply a water based top coat of your choice. This will protect the timber from weathering on your shed making it last longer and will need to be repeated accordingly in relation to the manufacturer's instructions.
