Shire garden arbours are manufactured here in the UK from timber which is distinguished from fast grown type timber used on cheaper arbours from other manufacturers. The timber used is a continental slow grown timber. Slower grown timber means tighter grain, extra strength and longer life.
Pressure Treatment - With this treatment a preservative is forced into the timber under high pressure, providing effective long term protection against rot and fungus. Pressure treatment is almost colourless except for a light green tint caused by the copper content in the preservative. In the course of time, the treatment greys, but this does not affect the quality.
